Insights Discovery model, a personality assessment tool
SkyAmbit’s in-house Insights Discovery training services are based in Switzerland, we also offer virtual training programs globally.
Insights Discovery uses the metaphor of color to describe four different energy styles or types: Cool Blue, Sunflower Yellow, Earth Green, and Vibrant Red. Each style is associated with different behaviors, strengths, and challenges.
We are fluent in both German and English, allowing us to effectively communicate with clients from different regions and cultures.

The model then expands on these four styles to describe eight types, 16 types, and 72 types, each with more specific and detailed descriptions of behavior.
The team wheel is a visual representation of the different personality types within a team or group, and can be used to understand the strengths and challenges of the team as a whole, as well as the potential impact of individual team members on group dynamics. By providing a common language and framework for understanding personality and behavior, the Insights Discovery model can help improve communication, collaboration, and problem-solving within teams.
By having all team members complete a personal profile assessment, it’s possible to create a summary of the team’s collective behavior and personality traits.
This summary can be useful for identifying potential gaps or areas for improvement within the team, as well as for understanding how to best communicate and work with team members who have different personality styles. By looking at the team’s collective behavior visually, it can also be easier to see patterns and trends that may not be as apparent when looking at individual profiles.
Understanding a team’s collective behavior can be useful for understanding its culture, decision-making preferences, and drivers. It can also help to explain why meetings may sometimes go a certain way, or why certain team members may clash. By using the Insights Discovery model to understand the personality styles and behaviors of team members, it can be easier to see how these factors can impact team dynamics and communication. This can be particularly useful for improving teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving within the team. By understanding these factors, it can also be easier to identify strategies for communicating more effectively with team members who have different personality styles or approaches to work.
Individual Self-awareness (Element 1)
It is every individual’s responsibility to make the choice to become engaged at work, and increasing self-awareness is key to understanding and increasing engagement.
By focusing on the individual, the goal is to increase engagement from within the organization, making it personal, tangible, and sustainable. The leadership of the organization plays a crucial role in creating a culture that supports and encourages employee engagement, but ultimately it is the responsibility of each individual employee to choose to be engaged in their work. While leaders may not be able to fully ensure that all employees are always engaged, they are responsible for creating a culture where employees have the opportunity to choose engagement and flourish.
It’s important to note that increasing employee engagement is an ongoing process, and it requires continuous effort and commitment from both the employees and the organization. With the Insights profile we focus on the following critical steps:
Thriving Through Change (Element 2)
Thriving Through Change is a module that uses the Insights Discovery Insights assessment tool as a foundation to understand how different people process change in different ways.
The module helps learners to understand their reactions to stress, preferred communication style when it comes to change, how they process information, and what motivates and engages them during times of change. By using Insights Discovery, the program aims to help individuals proactively respond to changes rather than just reacting to them. The module provides insights and understanding on different people’s perspective and approach to change and how to best communicate with them, how to better understand their needs and motivations, and how to support them through the change process. This can help leaders and teams to navigate change more effectively and reduce resistance to change. It also helps to create an environment where change is embraced and seen as an opportunity for growth and development, rather than a threat.
The key to successful change, according to this approach, is understanding the human element and how individuals are differently affected by change. To achieve this, the program focuses on several key areas including:
By understanding the human element of change and addressing the different factors that can affect it, the program aims to help organizations navigate change more effectively and ensure that it is successful in the long-term.
Team Effectiveness (Element 3)
Discovering Team Effectiveness is a process that examines how a team works together and aligns with individual preferences to improve team performance.
Navigating Team Effectiveness looks at a team’s capabilities and creates an action plan to improve them, with regular follow-ups to monitor progress and keep the team motivated to implement change. We examine various aspects of a team’s dynamics, including their communication style, prioritization methods, motivators, and any potential barriers to their performance. This information is used to identify areas for improvement and create a plan to address them, in order to enhance the team’s overall effectiveness. We focus on assessing the team’s capabilities and identifying areas for improvement. By evaluating the team’s performance in various areas, such as problem-solving, decision-making, and communication, an action plan can be developed to enhance those capabilities. The plan is created with the help of the team, and regular follow-ups are conducted to track progress and ensure that the team stays on track and motivated to implement the changes. This process helps the team to continuously improve their capabilities and performance over time.
Transformational Leadership (Element 4)
Transformational leadership is a leadership style that focuses on shifting perspective and adopting a more intentional and conscious inside-out strategy.
This approach emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and understanding both oneself and the organization one leads. A transformational leader creates the optimal conditions for individuals or a situation to reach their full potential. They proactively create safe spaces for new ideas and practices to emerge, instead of resisting change. They also encourage others to look beyond themselves and consider the bigger picture of the organization. This type of leadership is dynamic and constantly evolving, based on intuitive thinking, trust and discovery, and operates with a higher level of mindfulness and authenticity. Transformational leaders integrate rational and emotional forces, which means they focus not just on present issues and facts, but also on future potential and emotions to make the best decision.
The Self-Aware Leader module focuses on helping leaders at all levels of an organization increase their self-awareness and develop their personal strengths. Leadership is primarily about personal human strengths such as empathy, conviction, charisma, and reliability. This module encourages leaders to look inward and increase their level of self-awareness to better understand how they are perceived by others and how they can use their innate gifts to inspire and influence their team. Self-aware leaders are able to understand how they are experienced by those they lead, what they can do to influence those around them, and how they can use their innate gifts to inspire others to greatness. The program is designed to help leaders understand themselves better and use that understanding to lead more effectively.
Sales & Stakeholder Management (Element 5)
Organizations invest a lot of resources into gathering customer data, such as their spending patterns, purchasing habits, and pain points, to better understand their customers.
However, when it comes to person-to-person interactions, salespeople may not always have a deep understanding of their customers.
By upskilling salespeople to better understand their customers on a human level, they can build stronger relationships and differentiate themselves from other salespeople. Insights focuses on training salespeople to enrich conversations, build sustainable relationships, and tap into those human skills that set top salespeople apart. This can have a significant impact on sales performance and customer satisfaction.
Where there is connection on a human level, relationships bloom, which is why Insights specialises in upskilling salespeople to enrich conversations, build sustainable relationships and tap into those human skills that differentiate the top salespeople.
Our person-centred approach helps salespeople with their biggest challenges and priorities:
